Biodanza Workshop – Pleasure and joy

Saturday 2 Nov Canberra

This afternoon is about reconnecting to our very human impulse towards pleasure and freedom. It is about tasting the joy of aliveness and feeling the vital pulse of life in our cells.

We’ll have two Biodanza sessions that invite us into a direct experience of vital joy and pleasure that invite you back home to yourself, feeling good in your own skin.

Release to the rhythm and be inspired by the inner liberation of dance, evocative music and shared intention. Dive into the gifts of rhythm and trance with permission to move, feel, play and express in a space of acceptance.

Biodanza is a transformational dance practice that enlivens our potential for feeling alive, present and connected to express through movement, dance, music and connection to life.

Kate will facilitate the afternoon inviting you to a space of acceptance and possibility to –

About Biodanza

Biodanza is a transformational dance system. First developed in South America, it is loved around the world today. Biodanza is not about learning dance steps – it’s about moving experiences with uplifting music that awakens your potential. Biodanza is based on life, art and the human sciences. Read more about it at

If you are new to Biodanza, this is a good introduction to its possibilities. If you know Biodanza already, come and enjoy going deeper into your dance with two sessions of Biodanza in one day.

What to expect

You don’t need to a dancer, just to have a willingness to stretch your comfort zone a bit to try something new. You’ll be invited to a series of dances in a process to ‘shake out the stress‘, play and explore different movement possibilities then to slow down to become more present and steady. You’re encouraged to adjust proximity and pace as you need.

About your facilitator – Kate

I love to hold space for self-discovery through dance and movement with Biodanza. Biodanza has been at the heart of my life journey and many transformations since 1999. I practised Biodanza in Brazil, South Africa and Australia for many years and today live in Canberra where I run Biodanza groups and workshops and train facilitators. I’ve been fortunate to offer Biodanza in many wonderful places in Europe, Africa and the Asia Pacific and to train with the founder, Rolando Toro Araneda.  I love how Biodanza invites us to meet ourselves and each other in our beautiful and sometimes messy humanity and to encourage the light in each of us to express and be seen.
