About us

Claudio Gomes
Director

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, during the military dictatorship of the 60s and 70s. While those years were marked by restrictions on freedom, they also saw a flourishing of culture—especially in music and dance—which deeply shaped my moral education and personal values.

In the early 90s, after graduating as a Production Engineer and still in my mid-20s, I quickly rose to a managerial position in IT. It didn’t take long for me to realize that, while I had strong technical skills and creativity, I lacked the emotional insight needed to manage people effectively. This realization sparked a journey into understanding the hidden language of emotions—unsurprisingly, it led me into dance.

I went on to build a successful IT career, completing an MBA in IT Management and moving to Australia in 2002. In 2017, I formally retired as Head of IT for the world’s fifth-largest pharmaceutical company. Shortly after, I was invited to work as a coach for senior executives in the Australian Federal Government. I love working with leaders—it keeps me connected to the complex, evolving challenges of a post-pandemic, AI-driven world.

I’m a certified facilitator on Levels 1-3 and CoResolve of the Lewis Deep Democracy participatory leadership program.

As for the other side of my brain—movement and dance, especially Biodanza, have been foundational to my personal growth. Since the early 90s, Biodanza has supported every major decision in my life. Through classes, workshops, and international congresses, I’ve met extraordinary, courageous people who remind me what it means to be human and joyful. When I see someone move, I see the full beauty and complexity of the human spirit—far beyond words or titles.

I’m a certified didactic facilitator in Biodanza and train students through the three-year program at the Biodanza Southern Cross School.

Today, I see myself as a secular humanist. I rely on science, reason, and art to understand the world, rather than revelation or the supernatural. I believe human beings are extraordinary evolutionary creatures who, given the right conditions, can live fulfilling lives—both individually and collectively.

In this context, my mission is simple: to learn, to share, and to grow—deepening my understanding of myself, others, and the living world around me.

Kate Clement
Director

I enjoy the dynamic, creative challenge of working with groups and designing processes that enable people to connect with deeper wisdom and greater visions for themselves and their impact. I worked as a consultant and communications and facilitation specialist for 15 years in South Africa with government, not for profit and donor organisations in the development sector.

I am trained in CoResolve and Lewis Deep Democracy.  I work as a coach and biocentric facilitator in Canberra with senior executives through Yellow Edge and PEP. I also train Biodanza facilitators and host weekly groups, retreats and workshops.

“Kate’s talent ranges from the deep insights she shares when facilitating, the authenticity she shows in the magnificent depth of her communication to “the incredible lightness of being” that comes from her range of emotional, physical and intellectual offerings. Kates ability to read herself and the room ensures the appropriateness of her communication to match her audience/pupils/delegates. .” Stephen Buchalter – Make every Watt Count

What’s her movement story?

Kate has been working as a dance and human movement teacher for 20 years and as a trainer of movement teachers for 8 years. She has worked with movement and dance with groups from executive teams in boardrooms in the Philippines to teenagers in social projects in South Africa. She believes in the power of dance to unlock our human potential for joy, creativity and expression and has seen this in hundreds of people over the years that she has worked with human movement.

I practice Biodanza  and biocentric methods because they invite me to keep unfolding into deeper connections within and with others and life. Biocentrica is a way for me to keep learning, sharing and growing with people by putting life at the centre. I believe that this connection is essential if we are to care for each other and life on this planet together.
