Existential Creativity

Biodanza Workshop 3 Aug at Balanced Yoga

Our life force is naturally creative, not just in producing things but in being a part of the creative cycle of existence. When this is flowing, when there is connection, a sense of relatedness, it is natural for joy to arise. It is easier to flow with the way life is moving and to dance with change.

As we grow and are taught how to speak and read and write and think, often we forget the joy of knowing and creating through movement and all of our senses. We lose contact with our bodies and our authentic expression. Life can seem to be all about what we think, rather than what we feel on deeper levels.

In this afternoon workshop, we invite you to dance and share experiences that open up some of the doors to your authentic expression again. Enlivening your creative potential while also giving space for parts of yourself that need presence and rest to renew.

In a journey of two sessions of Biodanza, we invite you to a space of acceptance and possibility where you can:

This afternoon Biodanza workshop will explore existential creativity, the creation of our lives. It includes introductory material, 2 sessions of Biodanza and a tea and rest break.

Details:

Balanced yoga is a comfortable space for Biodanza with lovely natural light in a quiet area. It has blankets and bolsters for use during restful floor exercises. There is street parking or at Supabarn across the road

We will follow an organic flow through the afternoon with time for dancing, reflection and rest. Here are the key elements of the program. Everything is an invitation and you are always welcome to adjust to your requirements at the time.

### Some testimonials

“Have you ever danced until you flew? Danced so hard, so fast, so freely that you reach a level of overwhelming, ecstatic joy? If you haven’t you should – it can change your life.”  Mike Aldridge on Biodanza, Namaste magazine

“Can two and a half hours really make a difference to how you feel about your body? My experience is it can. … I sashayed over to my car, a big grin inside and out, feeling as if I had shifted and shaken loose something critical and controlling within. I realised how seldom I listen to my body’s wisdom and how often I override its needs and pleasures. If I am to learn to truly love myself, what better place to start than with my body?”    Rosemary Miller, Movement into life, Odyssey

“I’m feeling wonderfully relaxed and uplifted… I feel good and strangely optimistic about everything”    Geoff Dalglish, Grab a Partner, Mens Health

About Biodanza

Biodanza is a transformational dance practice. First developed in South America it is now loved around the world. In Biodanza dance is not about learning steps – it’s about moving experiences with uplifting music that awaken your potentials for health and wellbeing. Biodanza is a system of human development through dance, music and social connection based on life, the arts and the human sciences of psychology, philosophy, physiology and biology.

About Biodanza workshops

Doing more than one session of Biodanza in a progression allows for an amplification of the effect of the dances. Taking time out from your regular daily life creates space for you to immerse deeply into the proposals and explore more dimensions through the process. Most of the process of Biodanza happens in a regular, weekly group. If you can’t make a weekly class, a workshop like this can be an alternative to keep exploring through Biodanza. It is also a way to develop your experience if you are interested in doing weekends of Biodanza or facilitator training.

About your facilitator

Kate has worked as a dance and human movement facilitator for more than 20 years and as a trainer of Biodanza facilitators for 12 years. She has facilitated Biodanza with groups from executive teams in boardrooms in the Philippines to teenagers in social projects in South Africa.  Today Kate runs Biodanza groups in Canberra and trains and supervises Biodanza facilitators around Australia in the 3-year training program. She believes in the power of Biodanza to open our hearts and bring out innate human potentials for caring and generating positive possibilities together.
